Vimshottari Dasha is a 120-year planetary period cycle used in Vedic astrology to time life events. Each planet rules a major period (mahadasha) of specific duration, the Moon rules 10 years, Saturn 19 years, and so on. Your report identifies which dasha you are currently in and what the next 2–3 periods are likely to activate in your life.
Rashi uses the whole-sign house system, which is the traditional Vedic standard. Each house corresponds exactly to one sign, and the Ascendant sign becomes the first house. Some other systems, such as Placidus, use mathematical calculations that create houses of uneven size. In those cases, a single house can span multiple signs, which produces a chart that looks quite different. If you are comparing charts across platforms, this is usually the reason.
